How Does it Work?

Sweat it out like never before

Our Infrared Saunas penetrate directly into your body tissues, so you get to sweat it out at a more comfortable temperature. Increase circulation and improve recovery and detoxification in just a single session. Infrared saunas also release heat shock proteins, promoting muscle growth, and increasing your endurance.

The infrared sauna heaters use the infrared spectrum to promote relaxation and other health and wellness benefits.  In an infrared sauna, the air temperature is less important than the quality of the infrared heat. As your body absorbs the infrared heat, this will increase thermal energy inducing a deep and relaxing sweat.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is an infrared sauna better for me that a regular hot sauna or steam room?

The difference between infrared saunas and regular hot saunas is how the heat is used and distributed by the body.  Traditional saunas use a single heater and create a hot air pocket heating the body from the outside in.  Conversely, the infrared saunas use light wavelength that are the same as the sun uses to make us feel warm.

Infrared light comes in 3 spectrums do I need all 3 or is 1 spectrum enough?
  • An infrared sauna uses light therapy similar to or normal light spectrum produced by the sun.  And while any single one of these light forms would be better than just a “hot pocket of air, we believe that the most benefit will come from using all three.
  • Our full spectrum saunas use Near Infrared light to penetrate deep into the muscular tissue heating the cores thermal energy.  Near infrared light is associated with photobiomodulation which directly helps your cells produce ATP, the body’s energy source.
  • Mid infrared light is captured by the water molecules causing them to release energy and temporarily increase vasodialation.  The mid infrared light also promotes an elevated heart rate and increased metabolism.
  • Far infrared light also captured by the water molecules to release energy. This is a process is normal for the body to do when coming in contact with far infrared light causing us to give off infrared heat.  This will give us a temporary boost in strength and energy.
What temperature should I set my sauna?

While the heat produces a  relaxation effect and helps with endorphins in regular saunas, the temperature of the air is less important than the quality of the infrared heat given off by the infrared light in order to effect your thermal energy at a core level increasing the detoxification process.  Detoxing is important for the body to temporarily increase circulation, increase metabolism and increase the overall sense of wellness within the body.

Does the detoxification of the body work the same as a regular sauna?

The detoxification to the process is very different. In a regular hot sauna, the air temperature is raised to anywhere between 180-220 degrees.  The body responds to the heat by opening the pores to sweat in order to cool the body down.  Infrared saunas do not focus on hot pockets of air, but instead created an infrared sauna heated your body directly with the absorption of the light creating an increase in thermal energy that will stimulate the lymphatic system, immune system and cardiovascular system.  The body’s response to that stimulation is to sweat profusely pushing more toxins out.  Along with the far infrared heat that stimulates the water in our muscles, this assists in the increased toxins that the body will expel vs a regular hot sauna.
